Vice President - Evening Meetings:
Joanne Perry

1. How long have you been quilting?

Nearly 12 years.

2. How did you get started?

Hilary Kleckner suggested I attend a meeting as I was new to the area and was a sewer.

3. When buying fabric, do you buy what you need for a current project or do you buy it just because you like it, or it would go with your other stash?

I'll graze a shop and just pickup a lovely FQ (or 3 or 5) while I'm looking for project materials.

4. Do you stick with certain colours? Fabric lines (Moda, Hoffman, batiks)?

I let the color or the pattern catch my eye, then it's the (fabric's) hand that will make the final call.

5. When making a quilt, do you stick to patterns from magazines, pre-written patterns that you purchased, quilt kits, or do you design your own?

Yes to all.

6. Do you finish a project before starting another? Or do you have multiple projects going on at once?

Multiples going...if it weren't for holidays and birthdays I might never finish anything!

7. UFOs? Got 'em? How many?

Too many to list, she said blushingly.

8. When sewing/quilting, do you have music playing, the t.v. on, or just love listening to the sound of the machine purring?

Audio books from Schlow...otherwise music. TV when cutting, which explains my cutting problems.

9. What's your quilting style? Traditional? Modern? Arty?

Traditional.

10. If you had an unlimited supply of money, what item(s)/machine(s) would you buy for yourself (quilting related of course)?

When I win the lottery I want a permanent studio...attached to a B&B.
