About Us . . .Centre Pieces is a chapter of the National Quilting Association and has over 200 members. If you'd like to join us, please download the Membership Form and bring it along to a meeting! The public is invited to attend all general meetings.
The guild currently sponsors both day and evening chapter meetings. The evening meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from September through June. We meet at the Mount Nittany Middle School, State College, PA. Evening chapter meetings begin at 7 p.m. with a half hour of informal time to socialize, review recent literature/mail recieved by the quild, browse library books, and sign up for door prizes! At 7:30 p.m. we have a brief business meeting to pass on important information and announcements. This is followed by a program -- a speaker, demo, slide show, etc. -- and the evening ends with members' show 'n tell. The daytime monthly chapter meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month, September through June. They are held in the basement meeting room of Brookline Village from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The daytime meeting is not a separate guild, but another opportunity for those who choose not to go out at night or who would prefer a daytime meeting. The format is similar to the evening meetings but the programs are different. There is always show and tell, and a selection of library books is usually available. The chapters join together for the December holiday meeting and the June Picnic. The locations and days for these joint meetings vary, so check the meeting calendar for details. Membership dues are $15 a year.
In addition to the monthly meetings there are many interest groups which meet weekly. These groups are formed around various quilting interests and meetings are usually held in members' homes. For a history of Centre Pieces Quilt Guild visit Our History. Back to menu Contacts . . .
