The 2021 Centre Pieces Quilt Guild “My Town” challenge reveal is just around the corner!
The one requirement for the challenge is a label that references the challenge, what town or area you picked, and why you chose the town or area.
The internet link below provides lots of ideas about what information to include on the label and how to create the label:
Information you may want to include on the label:
-quilter’s name if item was quilted by someone else
-the name of the quilted item if you gave it a title
-the town where the quilted item was created
-the year the quilted item was completed
-recipient’s name if your quilted item will be a gift
-the name of the pattern and pattern creator if pattern is not original
-washing and care instructions
Those of you with embroidery modules as an accessory to your sewing machine may want to search online for videos to help you make an easy (or complex!) machine embroidered quilt label.
Another idea is to search online for information about how to use freezer paper and fabric or pre-treated fabric sheets to print a quilt label using your ink jet printer.
Easy labels can also be printed free-hand using a permanent archival marker or pen. Or you can hand embroider a label.
Other ideas include using project scraps or an orphan block when creating your label.
Let your creativity shine!

Our Summer Membership Meetings will be held at Orchard Park (1060 Bayberry Dr. off Blue Course Drive) under a pavilion (unless the weather is exceptionally horrible in which case we’ll Zoom.) We will not serve food or drinks; we will mask-up and we will abide by current social distancing rules. Please bring a chair. This park has flush toilets and close by parking. We plan to be finished in time to drive home while it is still light. Programs will be announced later.

Join us for the last Zoom meeting (for a while) on May 11 at 7:00pm
Carla Klop learned to quilt by hand around 1976 and for the next 30 years completed a quilt per year. It was not until discovering the rotary cutter, that her ideas went wild. She developed shortcut methods to speed up her time. These methods are now published in a binder along with patterns and tips.
Carla has created 100+ patterns, many which use her techniques. She has been published 4 times in the American Quilter magazine and has had featured patterns with some of Northcott’s fabric collections.
In this hour long presentation, Carla shares the accidental path she took to go from Quilter to Designer. She has many quilts to show, all created over the past few years.
