 March 25 at Pine Hall Lutheran Church, 1760 W College Ave, State College, PA 16801, is the next collection of quilts for local nursing homes and care facilities.  Any size, color, pattern, or target age is welcomed. The doors will be open from 10:00-12:00.  Contact LenoreC for more information or to donate your quilts at some other time.  

Machine Embroidery Club - 3rd Friday of the Month - Blue Course Community Church

 Bring your projects and your machine and up your embroidery game.  Embroidery Club held from 10 am till 1pm at the Blue Course Community Church the 3rd Friday of every month. March 17th, April 21st, and May 19th.  Leader: Gail Anderson

Learn about stabilizers, embroidery applique technique, making projects with embroidery motifs. Bring your embroidery machine, hoop, material, and a pattern of your choice. It’s always a good idea to have your machine manual with you.

Wednesday Daytime Meeting - 1 PM - State College YMCA - One Block Wonders

 Bobby M will be demonstrating One Block Wonder Quilts.  These are a version of “Stack and Whack” quilts using 6 panels that are stacked into layers and then cut into equilateral triangles to make hexagons. They involve purchasing 7 panels; 6 to “stack and whack” and one to actually use in the quilt, framing it with the hexagons made from the stack and whack process.

Take a look at some of the websites above and see if you think this might be something you might be interested in making. My presentation will be just a lecture, not a workshop. But if some of you are interested in making one, we can organize a workshop later in the spring.

Tuesday Evening Zoom Meeting - March 14 - Karen Miller of Redbird Quilt Company - It's All About the Thread

 Join us at 6:30 for social time and 7 PM for our March evening meeting via ZOOM. (No worries about the weather or driving after dark!)

During this program Karen L. Miller of Redbird Quilt Co. will share her Aurifil-centric trunk of quilts while giving a structured, in-depth presentation about cotton thread including information on weights, ply, process, spool positioning, needle recommendations, tension settings and more. Karen offers helpful tips & tricks while addressing projects and photos aimed to inspire and expand your knowledge of cotton threads.
