Unloved fabric finds friends at the 3rd Wednesday afternoon at the YMCA

We spread out all over the small gym at the Y.  We used the floor as our design wall as teams of 2 or 3 chose orphan blocks and selections of donated fabric to build 50"x 60"quilt backs. If you have a WOMBAT (Waste Of Money and Batting) or just a UFO that might match the size of one of these that you would like to donate, please see LenoreC. 11 quit backs finished, 50”x 60”-ish; many people went home with almost-dones and some people even went home with a pile of fabric to continue the scrappy fun..

Hover over a picture to see the size.

YMCA Auction

We have met at the YMCA for most of our face-to-face progams this year.  In recognition of their generous donation to us (i.e. rent-free space), we have been asked to donate to their Spring fundraiser auction which will be held at the end of March at the Y on Whitehall Rd.  Please check your stash and UFO pile for quilted and other handmade objects that you can finish quickly as well as your closets for new/in-box/with tags gifts you are never going to use.

Please use this tag so the Y staff knows who donated and how much your item is worth. Becky and Leslie will receive your donations any time or you can drop them off at the Y at our February 15 day meeting.
