Echoes of History

https://kariroslund.com/grove-farm-residency/
Juniata College Museum of Art on the corner of 17th St and Moore has an exhibit of the pieces by Kari Roslund of Mount Union.  Her beautiful and unique quilted pieces are awesome and hard to adequately describe.

Check out this link to her website:  https://kariroslund.com/grove-farm-residency

Her exhibit runs through August 22 (just 3 more weeks) with very limited museum hours. So, treat yourself to a special experience and stop by the JC Museum.. (Wed and Thurs 1 to 6 pm, Fri 11 am to 3 pm).

  1. BeckyT and I visited this exhibit. It’s not exactly quilting although it is sewn. Pieces of paper (paper piwced) of historical interest are glued on to a backing then shaped into lifesized graduation robe, a 1950-rra woman’s bathing suit, and a pair of farmer’s overalls. She uses the Pennsylvania quilt block pattern so there’s that connection. It’s s definitely an out of the box experience. No fabric was used in this art. Worth the drive but check the museum’s very limited hours.
